A complaint of online fraud of Rs.6 lakh has been registered in cyber cell on Monday morning with a senior citizen calling to pay Rs.10 dues of light bill. The accused had downloaded the Quick Sport app from Google Play Store in the old man’s mobile phone on the pretext of paying bills. Through which the accused got access to the mobile phone of the complainant and transferred the amount to the bank account and committed the fraud.

Ashokbhai Maneklal Shah (age, 66), a retired resident of New Nikita Park Flats in Vishramnagar, has lodged a complaint against unknown persons in a cyber cell, according to which a person named Rahul Sharma called the complainant on August 28 last to pay Rs.10 arrears of light bill. . The accused had downloaded the Quick Sport app from the Google Play Store to the complainant. Two transactions of 49,185 were made and money was deducted from Ashokbhai’s account within the calculation time of downloading this app. The accused told the complainant that this happened due to a technical problem and said that the money would be deposited.
