A Wisconsin man accused of victimizing women he’d met on dating apps and in bars was taken into police custody this week.
Timothy Olson, 52, was arrested on Tuesday on kidnapping, burglary and identity theft charges after he allegedly attacked a 79-year-old woman at gunpoint, the Franklin Police Department said.
Franklin police say Olson confronted the elderly victim at gunpoint in a bar parking lot on Nov. 23 after she declined a drink from him. He allegedly forced her into her car and “held her for a number of hours,” ABC News reported. According to authorities, Olson ordered the victim to drive at least one bank machine and used one of her cards to withdraw money.
The woman was uninjured in the incident but was “very shook up,” Franklin Police Chief Rick Oliva said, per ABC.
“Please be on the look out for Timothy Olson,” the Franklin Police Department posted on Facebook prior to his arrest on Tuesday. “Do not attempt to contact or apprehend him. Call 911 immediately to report his location.”
Oliva claimed that Olson had been linked to at least two other burglaries in the area prior to being taken into police custody.
Olson is wanted by several other law enforcement agencies for other potential crimes.
Mt. Pleasant police have an arrest warrant pending for Olson on five counts of felony personal identification theft for personal gain related to a Sept. 2 incident.
