SOLON, Ohio — Fraud: Rockford Drive
At 5:05 p.m. Dec. 13, a Solon woman, 76, reported that she had been the victim of an online scam. The woman believed she was helping to fund the establishment of a medical supply company. She loaned more than $100,000 worth of bitcoin value to a man she met online, but did not receive reimbursement.
Burglary: Bainbridge Road
At 7 a.m. Dec. 14, a Solon woman, 75, reported a possible burglary that took place at about 10 a.m. Dec. 10. The woman told police that a man, about 55-60 years old with gray hair and a beard, knocked on her home’s door and said he was in the area doing repairs and needed to check her home’s water.
The man said he needed to see the house’s water main. The woman let the man inside and, instead of the water main, the man directed his attention to a storage room. The man concealed items in his waistband, then left. The woman is unsure what was taken.
The man parked in the woman’s driveway an older model sedan, possibly gray or beige in color. Police do not have a suspect.
Warrant arrest: Harper Road
At 8:45 p.m. Dec. 15, an officer stopped an SUV because of its expired plates. The female driver did not have a license. The officer then asked to see the license of the male passenger. The man, 26, of Cleveland, was found to be wanted on two warrants.
The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department wanted the man for carrying a concealed weapon, and South Euclid police wanted him for misdemeanor assault. The driver was cited…
