UPDATE: A woman accused of killing her husband was arraigned in Raleigh County Circuit Court on Wednesday.
Natalie Cochran of Daniels is currently serving an 11-year prison sentence for what federal prosecutors called a Ponzi scheme to defraud investors of nearly two million dollars.
In November of 2021, Cochran was indicted by a Raleigh County Grand Jury for the murder of her husband, Michael Cochran, in February of 2019.
At her arraignment on that indictment on Wednesday, Cochran said she plans to plead ‘not guilty.’
A trial date was also set during Wednesday’s hearing. Cochran is set to go to trial on June 6, 2022, with a Pre-Trial hearing set for May 18, 2022.
In August of 2019, Cochran told WVVA News that she did not kill her husband. She said her husband had been manipulating insulin and steroids at the time of his death and had been hospitalized previously.
The case has been assigned to Judge Robert Burnside.
