The Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) today iterated that it has never sent an email regarding the 2022 Special Withdrawal application status to its members. This is after EPF members reportedly received fraudulent emails from irresponsible quarters claiming to be the statutory body and that they can check their application status via a malicious link attached to the email.
Shared on its official Facebook page, EPF reminded its members to stay vigilant and to not click on any website links that are suspicious. Furthermore, the statutory body also urged members to thoroughly check emails that they received before responding, so as to ensure that it is from an official channel and not a scammer.
EPF also called upon members to call its Contact Management Centre at 03-8922600 to ensure the validity of any alleged emails from EPF that they received. Previously, EPF members were also targeted by scammers in regards to the 2022 Special Withdrawal.
There were widespread fraudulent ads sharing phishing sites links that tricks people into revealing or entering personal information which can be used illicitly. So guys, remember to always stay safe and make sure to thoroughly research a website before accessing it or worse, sharing personal information!
