CPS warns of scam trying to get payment info

CPS Energy on Sunday warned customers of an ongoing scam.

In social media posts, CPS said it had received reports of customers trying to be tricked into calling a bogus number allegedly belonging to the utility and sharing payment information.

“Don’t be fooled,” CPS tweeted.

CPS Energy warned customers on Sunday, March 6, 2022, of a scam.

If you do receive a call, CPS says:

  • Hang up.
  • Record the phone number the person is telling you to call back.
  • Report the phone number to our Customer Service: 210-353-2222.
