Average retail gasoline prices in North Carolina increased by one cent last week to $4.09 as of Monday, March 25. This compares with the national average, was the same as last week to $4.23 per gallon, according to www.northcarolinagasprices.com.
National, state debt update…
As of Monday, March 25, the United States’ national debt was $30,345,577,481,794 according to www.usdebtclock.org. That debt figure breaks down to $91,167 in debt per person and $241,611 in debt per taxpayer. Also as of Monday, March 25, North Carolina’s state debt was $51,127,425,478, which breaks down to $4,926 in debt per citizen.
State unemployment and food stamp update…
As of Monday, March 25, 198,764 state residents were registered as unemployed, according to www.usdebtclock.org, and 1,735,337 North Carolinians were registered as food stamp recipients out of a total state population of 10,366,991.
