West Bengal’s Commerce and Industry minist Partha Chatterjee, arrested in the multi-crore-rupee school teacher recruitment scam, was sacked from the cabinet today (July 28, 2022).
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee issued an order this afternoon (July 28, 2022) removing Chatterjee from the ministry, six days after Rs 20.21 crore in cash, Rs 89 lakh in gold and Rs 59 lakh in foreign currency were recovered from his (Chatterjee’s) close aide Arpita Mukherjee’s house, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
Nearly Rs 50 crore in cash, and gold were recovered from three apartments linked to Arpita. besides documents of properties and foreign exchange, as per officials of the Enforcement Directorate, which arrested them.
