MORTGAGE scam accused Catriona Carey has been warned a bench warrant will be issued for her arrest if she fails to appear in court next week on motoring charges.
Carey, who is alleged to have conned heartbroken homeowners out of thousands of euro, is accused of driving with no insurance and without a driving licence.
The former Ireland hockey star was due to appear at Kilkenny District Court today over the motoring raps.
But after Carey failed to show, Judge Geraldine Carthy issued a warning that she must turn up on Monday morning or face a bench warrant.
Judge Carthy said: “She must appear before me at 10.30am on Monday or a bench warrant will be issued.”
The judge issued the bench warrant threat after gardai highlighted how Carey had failed to show on a number of occasions in relation to the motoring charges.
A defence solicitor told the court Carey had been in touch with his office by email on Monday.
But the solicitor added that there appeared to be some confusion about who was representing her.
The court heard Carey is due to face further motoring charges on Monday.
Carey has already been charged with driving without insurance or a licence on December 10 in a 2020 BMW 420.
