A Glenview resident reported Dec. 23 receiving a call from an unknown individual Dec. 21 informing the resident a person removed $15,000 from the resident’s bank account. The resident was instructed to purchase a $5,000 Macy’s gift card to remedy the situation. When the individual asked for more gift cards, the resident realized the call was a scam. The reported loss is $5,000
