Dharwad: Hundreds of competitive exam aspirants, under the banner of Janajagruthi Sangha, staged a demonstration in front of the DC’s office here on Wednesday demanding a CBI probe into the PSI recruitment scam. The protesters later submitted a memorandum addressed to the government through the DC’s office. The protesters said they suspected a nexus between high-level officials and coaching centres in the recruitment of police sub-inspectors. Moreover, there are allegations of a similar scam in the recruitment of SDA, and therefore a detailed probe should be ordered and stern action should be initiated against the culprits, they said. Janajagruti Sangha president Basavaraj Korawar said scams in recruitment have taken place even during Siddaramaiah’s tenure as the chief minister in 2016, and that also should be probed by CBI , he demanded. Without delaying further, the government should notify the PSI re-examination dates before July 31, he said.
